PBIS
At Watkins Intermediate, we take pride in creating a positive, supportive environment through our PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) framework. We focus on building strong character and community by showing Warrior HEART—Honesty, Empathy, Accountability, Respect, and Togetherness—in all that we do.
As a PAX school, we implement the PAX Good Behavior Game (PAX GBG), a set of proven strategies that support students’ social-emotional learning. Students work together to identify the behaviors they want to see, hear, feel, and do more of—called PAX behaviors. This approach helps create safe, focused, and supportive classrooms where students thrive.
To celebrate positive choices and leadership, students can earn Warrior Black & Golds, be named Leader of the Month, and receive quarterly awards for outstanding contributions.
In addition, students participate in Calm Classroom mindfulness activities at least three times each day. These brief, effective practices promote focus, emotional regulation, and self-awareness—skills students are encouraged to use anytime throughout the school day.
Together, these supports empower our students to grow as learners and kind, responsible members of our Warrior community.
